Today I drew up my final design with all of the elements combined. The copper sheets also arrived, so I experimented with those.

Successes

- Final design is attractive. Greenery works well with copper and echoes nature theme. It was really good to see all the different aspects of the design come together.

- I cut a piece of copper, which was surprisingly easy, then played around with it bending and shaping it to test its malleability. Unfortunately I do not think it will be flexible enough to plate the antlers all over, However, I had pretty much decided I preferred the idea of wrapping strips around the antlers anyway, allowing the 'natural' texture and colour of the antlers to show through.

- I tested the copper by sketching out an antler shape and sticking strips onto it, spaced apart. This worked really well and allowed me to actually visualise the final piece and gave me confidence about making it.

- I ordered some artificial greenery, such as ferns and heather. I also ordered real moss and am pleased that at least one part of my piece will be totally natural and real.

Could do better

- My final design could do with being a lot bigger and more detailed. I at least need to label it. It is very small and is not drawn in a realistic style.

- I did not order the artificial plants early enough. Their late arrival may hinder the making process.
