Successes

- Luckily, my initial Harry Potter research led me to the idea of reading JK Rowling's book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I feel this will be a good starting point as it is very current, but has also not been visualised in any way before now.

- I read the book, searching for descriptions of 'beasts' that live underwater in the Harry Potter world. As there is a film adaptation currently in production for this book, I can perhaps pretend that I am working on the film to produce a 3D representation of a character! I am excited at the prospect of this as I am yet to make something of this nature even though it is what I intnd to study at University.

- I found the 'Plimpy', accompanied by a vague description of its appearance and its habits. It is perfect to work with because it seems to have a fairly simple appearance which will serve well as a first attempt at character design and modelmaking.

Could do better

- I should have begun drawing my first ideas about how the plimpy would look, instead I admittedly spent most of the day reading the rest of the book...
