Today I designed a set of bluetooth speakers, using square paper again to achieve accurate perspective and scale.

Successes
- Interesting concept - the speakers can connect and all play from the same device or can be split and carried into different rooms, for example to be used by different family members.
- Useful and up to date product. Bluetooth speakers are used a lot more today than regular speakers or CD players due to the practicality of not having to have a device directly connected. I was praised by a peer for this development, as my furnitre did not have anything new and current about it.
- Can brighten up the home and add colour to a sleek modern interior. I photoshopped the speakers into a modern white living room and I feel they really added something as an artistic feature as well as a functional one. They almost serve as pieces of art.
- Varied shapes and colours. There are a few different designs meaning there is more likely to be something for everyone's home or for different rooms.
- Multi-purpose - the speakers can be mounted in different ways and have multiple functions. One of them can be hung from something, another mounts the wall and serves as lighting, and one even doubles as a plant pot. Others are free-standing and fit the traditional model and use of speakers.
Could do better
- Ambitious - I again feel these would be too difficult for me to make as an outcome, even a rough prototype due to their irregular shapes and curves.
- I have taken too long to come up with my final idea. Had I worked more efficiently, I would have had time to make one of these more complex designs.
- I have replicated the fairly unrealistic 2D Memphis style of drawing, particularly inspired by Nathalie du Pasquier. However, I could have done more detailed drawings as well that would better represent the speakers in a realistic sense.
Failed foamboard attempt...
I attempted to make the cube-shaped hanging speaker out of foamboard. I have never experimented with foamboard before. I was sure to do very accurate measurements, scaling up my drawings. However, every time I put my foamboard pieces together they did not match up. After three attempts, I gave up. I am still not sure what I was doing wrong and will seek help with it.
