Today I made a lot of progress, and my pro

sthetics began to come to life. I made the nose & mouth parts, and also the forehead of my rabbit. I did encounter difficulties, but in the end it all came together and I am confident that my prosthetics will work well. First of all I made a clay model of the mouth and nose. It was made up of two large balls and one small one. I then smoothed out the edges and added nostrils.

I then covered it in liquid latex, dried t with a hairdryer, and repeated until it was about 8 layers thick.

This worked well, however once it was all

dry I realised the edges were too thick and it would have been impossible to blend with the model's skin. I put it back on the clay and added more thin layers around the edge that blended with the original piece and tapered out to one layer thick. I still feel the latex could be thinner. Ideally the prostheitc would also be firmer. However, I did not want to sacrifice the thinness to make it firmer.

Below is the finished prosthetic mouth and nose piece. When I come to putting it on the model I will trim the edges to fit his/her face.
