Fixtures and Fittings || Another change of mind...

After sleeping on it, and during further work on my self directed study day, I have come up with yet another new idea that is totally different. I would like to make a wearable squid jewellery piece. I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with the soft thin wire and I did think about how it would be well suited to jewellery making. I have been encouraged by this experimentation that it is something I could accomplish for my final outcome. It also reflects my personal interests, as I have a thing for unusual jewellery! I would like the piece to be a statement. I will make the squid quite large, and I like the idea of it wrapping the tentacles around the wearer. As the wire is so flexible, the tentacles could be bent and wound to fit many parts of the body; the neck, head and arms would be good. It could also be displayed in the home, wrapped around furniture or objects.

The neutral coloured metal would also mean the piece could be unisex, something I am keen on the promotion of in fashion.

I am pleased with my new idea, however I have spent quite a lot of time thinking and not much time doing today! I did a few initial sketches to work out and illustrate my idea. I am keen to get making in the studio tomorrow.
