Fixtures and Fittings || Squids With Guns

After thinking back to my movie research, and reflecting on my failed prototype squid, I have decided that I don't feel the idea is exciting or unique. I went back to my initial drawings and was reminded of the angry looking squid that I started out with. How could I make an angry, possibly evil character out of my squid?

The image of a squid with a gun popped into my head. Then, strangely enough, the song Kids With Guns by Gorillaz started playing in my mind! I changed the word kid to squid and was left with some pretty humorous lyrics that conjured up all sorts of crazy images. I started to research guns a little bit and found some old fashioned looking revolvers that I could see my angry squid holding. I drew one and was pleased with the result. I also did a brief sketch of a squid with two guns and quite liked the image.

I then wrote down the 'Squids With Guns' lyrics and illustrated them. However, again, I am left feeling that perhaps this kind of idea is a little overdone. Evil animals taking over the world etc. I will have to think more on it.
